Friends of St. Avips
Purpose
The Friends of St. Avips is a permanent organization of 40 women who volunteer their efforts to promote interest in, and to provide financial assistance to George A. Spiva Center for the Arts.
In addition to the annual ball, the organization assists in receptions at the Center sponsors exhibits, and participates in other fundraising events for the Center. St. Avips operates independently of the Center, but with its full cooperation and support.
Upcoming – 61st Annual St. Avips Ball
Hello, Patrons of the George A. Spiva Center for the Arts,
The Friends of St. Avips are so excited to host the 61st Annual Ball on Friday, May 5th, 2023.
This year we are so fortunate to be celebrating the new home for the George A. Spiva Center for the Arts at the Harry M. Cornell Arts and Entertainment Complex. What better way to celebrate than “An Evening in Paris.”
Like Spiva Center for the Arts, Paris is also the home of many fabulous pieces of artwork. This year we will celebrate by
highlighting some of the most iconic favorites of Paris, as well as continuing to offer you beautiful artwork by local artists.
The Friends of St. Avips was organized in 1963 with the sole purpose of supporting the George A. Spiva Center for the Arts. Since that time the committee has raised over $1,250,000 to help with operating expenses, special events, supplies, and scholarships for art classes.
In addition, Spiva also provides excellent outreach services for programs such as Memories in the Making and The Recovery Outreach Community Center. Through help from the Friends of St. Avips, Spiva Center for the Arts has expanded programs to better serve our community and the surrounding area.
We thank you for your continued support of The Friends of St. Avips and the George A. Spiva Center for the Arts. We look forward to seeing you on May 5th at the Harry M. Cornell Arts and Entertainment Complex.
Please stay tuned for more details about “An Evening in Paris.”
